USA Boxing Youth High Performance Team Travels to Thailand for 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup

(MAR 5) COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Boxing is excited to see all 17 boxers competing on the international stage next week, 15 of whom will make their international debuts with the Stars and Stripes. Of the 17 athletes named to the 2026 Youth High Performance Team, team captains Angel Blancarte (men’s 85 kg | Hutchinson, Kan.) and Lauryn Elmore (women’s 65 kg | Sacramento, Calif.) are the lone returners on the roster. Blancarte and Elmore enter their second year on the United States Youth national team after securing bronze medals at the 2025 Brandenburg Cup in Germany.  Full Story

(FEB 23) Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena was the center of the boxing world on Sunday, February 22, 2026, hosting a stacked card headlined Claressa Shields vs. Franchon Crews-Dezurn in a rematch.  Shields Remains Undisputed:  In the main event, Claressa Shields (18-0) successfully defended her undisputed heavyweight crown, putting against  Franchon Crews-Dezurn (10-3). Echoing their professional debuts nearly a decade ago, Shields utilized superior hand speed and timing to neutralize Crews-Dezurn’s power. (AUG 4) COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Last Saturday, the United States closed out the 2025 Brandenburg Cup in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, in dominant fashion. Three Female Bouts Featured in Incheon, South Korea

(AUG 3) Last night, the Nova Boxing Gymnasium in Incheon, South Korea, featured three female bouts on the undercard. In the first bout of the evening, 45-year old Eun Young Lee, 104 1/2, made her pro debut against the much younger boxer, 26-year old Hye Sun Park, 104 1/2.  The judges' scores ending with a majority decision in favor of Lee. However, when it comes to the heavyweight division, a continuing trend seems to continue off and on throughout the sport of women's boxing.  The issue is pretty basic folks....the proper classification of the weights in women's boxing. Gabriela Fundora Successfully Defends her World Titles

 (APR 20)  Last night at the Frontwave Arena, in Oceanside, California, Gabriela Fundora, 111, won by a seventh round TKO over Marilyn Badillo, 111 1/2, in a scheduled 10 round bout, where Fundora was defending her WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBF World Flyweight titles.  Nice solid fight for Fundora who dominated the fight.

(APRIL 11) On Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Estadio F.A.B., Sol Cudos won the vacant IBF minimumweight title by split decision against Maria Sol Baumstarh. The event was broadcast by TyC Sports in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Boxeo De Primera (BDP) which is affiliated with TyC Sports has the video of the fight on its YouTube channel. Early in round seven, a three-punch combination to the head by Baumstarh caused Cudos to drop her right knee and glove to the canvas. Rupprecht Wins Undisputed Atomweight Championship Against Yamanaka

(APRIL 10) Tina “Tiny Tina” Rupprecht of Germany defeated Sumire Yamanaka of Japan by majority decision in a fight between the top two atomweights for supremacy in the division. Yamanaka held the IBF title in that weight class, so Rupprecht added that title to her other three titles from the WBC, WBA, and WBO. Kubicki Retains WIBA Flyweight Title Against El Bousairi

(JAN 6) The first reported women's boxing bout that took place thus far was two days ago on January 4th, at the Hotel Nongshim, Busan, where Kyung Joo Bae, 125 1/2, of Changwon, South Korea, won her bout when she defeated Hyun Hee Lim, 125 1/4, of Busan, South Korea.
