LAS VEGAS, NV — The International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF) is proud to announce that Kali "KO" Mequinonoag Reis, a multi-weight world champion boxer and critically acclaimed actress, is one of our 20 elite IWBHF Inductees for induction into the IWBHF Class of 2026. The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, honoring her extraordinary contributions to the sport both inside and outside the ring.

Reis, an enrolled member of the Seaconke Wampanoag Tribe with Cherokee and Nipmuc ancestry, is a pioneering figure in professional boxing. Throughout her boxing career, she achieved six world titles across two weight classes, cementing her legacy as one of the most formidable female fighters of her era. Reis has held the WBC Female Middleweight Title, as well as the WBA, WBO, and IBO Light Welterweight titles.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Reis began her boxing journey at age 14. She turned pro in 2008 and quickly made history, including participating in the first-ever women’s boxing match televised live on HBO in 2018 against Cecilia Brækhus. Beyond her championships, Reis used her platform to advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).

In a seamless transition from the ring to Hollywood, She made her acting debut in 2021 in the critically acclaimed film Catch the Fair One, which she also helped write, earning a Special Jury Mention at the Tribeca Film Festival and an Independent Spirit Award nomination.

Her performance caught the attention of showrunner Issa López, leading to a co-starring role alongside Jodie Foster in HBO's True Detective: Night Country (2024). Her portrayal of state trooper Evangeline Navarro earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination, a Golden Globe nomination, and a Critics Choice Award nomination, marking her as a massive talent in the entertainment industry.

"Her accomplishments as a six-time world champion combined with her groundbreaking work as an actress prove that she is a 'Many Talents'—her namesake—and a perfect role model for future generations".

The 2026 IWBHF Induction Weekend, celebrating its 5th anniversary in Las Vegas, will honor Reis alongside other elite modern fighters, and those who fought for the sport of women's boxing  "Outside the Ring."
