Adelaida "La Cobra" Ruiz successfully defended her WBC World Super

— Reigning WBC World Super Flyweight Champion
Adelaida “La Cobra” Ruiz
successfully defended her title by winning a unanimous
decision victory over interim champion and former U.S. Olympian
Ginny Fuchs.
The highly anticipated championship rematch served as a major
highlight of the Pro TV boxing card at the
Orange Show Events Center.
The ten-round bout went the distance, with the judges scoring
the contest
99-91, 97-93, and 96-94 all in
favor of the Ruiz. At the scales Ruiz weighed in 114 ˝, and
Fuchs, at 113 ˝. Lbs.
This matchup was a direct rematch of their heavily debated
August 2024 encounter, where Fuchs initially handed Ruiz her
first professional defeat via a split decision to take the
interim crown.
Interview of Ruiz:
According to news sources, “Stepping back into the ring on her
home turf in California, Ruiz adjusted her game plan and pushed
the pace in the bout. Though Fuchs showcased her signature
Olympic speed and outside boxing early on, Ruiz’s continuous
pressure and power began to dictate the later exchanges.”
With the victory, Ruiz avenges her lone career loss, improves
her official professional record to
19-1-1. Fuch is now 4-1-0
(1KO).
