Championship boxing took center stage on Saturday night, July 11, 2026,
at the Coliseo Pedrín Zorrilla, delivering an evening of
women's professional boxing. Co-promoted by Salita Promotions and Universal
Promotions.
In the
co-main event of the evening, Mexico’s Litzy
Adilene Vazquez Ochoa (137 ¾ lbs) upset the heavily
experienced, 45-year-old former champion Edith Soledad
Matthysse (138 lbs) of Argentina to capture the WBA
Interim Female Super Lightweight World Championship.
The
24-year-old challenger, known as "La Bomba," pushed the pace
across ten rounds. Despite Matthysse's tactical veteran
defense, Vazquez Ochoa’s output won over the ringside
officials. The judges returned a 10-round majority decision with
scores of 95-95, 92-98, and 92-98, crowning Vazquez Ochoa
as the new WBA Interim World Champion.
Wonyou Outpoints Walters for WBA International Bantamweight
Crown The second ten-round championship feature showcased
the undefeated Johanna Wonyou (117 ¾
lbs), who successfully secured the vacant WBA International
Bantamweight Championship by a unanimous decision over
Canada's tough Tani Walters (117 ½ lbs).
Wonyou
used sharp combinations to control the
distance and dictate the tempo from the opening bell. Walters
showed heart throughout the ten-round bout. Wonyou won the 10-rounder
by a unanimous
decision. The final judges' scorecards read 99-91, 97-93, and
96-94.
Opening
the televised women's triple-feature, Puerto Rico’s own Kiria
Tapia (130 lbs) impressed her hometown fans with a unanimous
decision over Spain's Alba Sanchez (127 ½ lbs). All three judges scoring the
bout a perfect 80-72.
