(MAR 3) On March 14, 2026, the Honda Center in
Anaheim, California, will host a high-stakes showdown in the women's flyweight
division. Undefeated champion Gabriela "Sweet Poison" Fundora (17-0, 9 KOs) is
set to defend her undisputed IBF, WBC, WBO, and WBA World Flyweight titles
against Australia-based challenger Viviana Ruiz Corredor (10-2, 5 KOs).
Gabriela Fundora, from Coachella, California, the 23-year-old Fundora has
rapidly ascended to the pinnacle of the sport. Standing as a towering southpaw
for the division, her reach and volume punching have made it difficult for any
and all opponents that she has faced.
Fundora entered her undisputed reign by unifying the titles in late 2024 and has
since been on a dominant run. Her most recent defense occurred on September 20,
2025, where she defeated Alexas Kubicki. Fundora’s relentless pressure led to a
seventh-round TKO victory, marking her second successful defense of the
undisputed crown.
Viviana Ruiz Corredor, Viviana Ruiz Corredor is originally from Colombia and now
fighting out of Sydney, Australia, the 43-year-old veteran has overcome
significant hurdles to reach this stage. After starting her boxing journey at
age 27, she amassed extensive amateur experience before turning pro in 2021.
This matchup definitely will be a contrast of styles in the ring. Fundora’s
height and reach will be an obstacle for Ruiz Corredor. Ruiz Corredor with her
wiliness to engage in heavy exchanges and to press forward, will be her
advantage.
The bout will be featured on a Golden Boy Promotions card, headlined by a
welterweight clash between Arnold Barboza Jr. and Kenneth Sims Jr., and will be
broadcast live globally on DAZN.
