LAS VEGAS, NV — The City of Las Vegas has officially designated October 10, 2026, as "International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame Day." Mayor Shelley Berkley issued the formal proclamation to honor the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF) for its outstanding contributions to the sport.

On the official proclamation certificate, Mayor Berkley states:
"I, Shelley Berkley, Mayor of the City of Las Vegas, do hereby proclaim October 10, 2026, as 'International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame Day' in the city of Las Vegas and ask residents and visitors to join me in recognizing the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame and its distinguished contributions to the advancement and celebration of women's boxing. In honor of its annual induction ceremonies and its commitment recognizing the achievements of athletes, pioneers, and supporters both inside and outside the ring, the city of Las Vegas proudly recognizes women's boxing day. We commend the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame for its dedication to preserving the legacy of the sport and inspiring future generations through excellence, perseverance, and achievement."

This historic declaration marks the fourth time the City of Las Vegas has officially recognized the organization. Following consecutive proclamations from 2021 through 2025, the 2026 declaration cements a powerful, ongoing tradition of celebrating female fighters in the boxing capital of the world.

Sue TL Fox, President and Founder of the IWBHF, expressed ratitude for the city's continued support. "Receiving this proclamation from Mayor Berkley is a momentous honor for the IWBHF," said Fox. "When I founded this organization, the goal was to ensure that the blood, sweat, and historic triumphs of women in the ring would never be forgotten. Having the City of Las Vegas recognize our work for a fourth time validates the legacy of our pioneers and fuels our mission to inspire the next generation of champions."
Wanda Countiss, Vice-President of the IWBHF, emphasized the profound impact of the announcement on the global boxing community. "This proclamation means the world to the athletes, coaches, and loyal supporters who have fought tirelessly for equality in this sport,"We thank Mayor Berkley for standing with us as we celebrate these history-makers."

The designation coincides with the IWBHF's annual induction ceremonies, which gather boxing royalty from around the globe to honor the pioneers who paved the way and the modern champions continuing the legacy. [1]
