LAS VEGAS, NV - (February 7, 2025) In our upcoming event that takes place on April 4-5, 2025, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame event, "Night of the Stars 2", we are proud of one of our own Malissa Smith.

Smith is a founding member of the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame [IWBHF]. At our event, we have had the honor of Smith introducing our IWBHF inductees at each live event since 2014.

Smith, an author and women’s boxing historian, she has written two books: A History of Women’s Boxing (Rowman and Littlefield: 2014) and The Promise Of Women’s Boxing: A Momentous New Era for the Sweet Science (Rowman and Littlefield: 2024) with a foreword by Claressa Shields.

In addition to her invaluable work with the IWBHF, Smith’s duties in boxing include being a member of The Ring’s Women’s Boxing Panel, her work with the monthly WBC women’s boxing committee, and her role as both a member of the selection panel and an elector for the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

As a public speaker, Smith makes frequent appearances on podcasts, radio, and television programs espousing her support for women’s empowerment and women’s sports. She has also been a producer and host of her own podcast, WAAR Room along with her partners, Chris Baldwin and Eddie Goldman.

We are happy to announce that Smith will not only be an integral part of our IWBHF 2025 event, but on Friday, April 4, 2025, at our pre-celebration day in the Salon Ballroom, Smith will be doing a book signing of her latest book, " The Promise Of Women’s Boxing: A Momentous New Era for the Sweet Science."

Events such as the "Night of the Stars 2" are essential not just for honoring the past but also for igniting the future of women's boxing.
