(MAR 4) COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2026 USA
Boxing Women’s Youth High Performance Team was announced on Monday, finalizing
the roster for the upcoming 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok, Thailand,
and the remainder of the year. Eight athletes were invited to the 2026 USA
Boxing Youth High Performance Selection Camp, and all eight were designated to
this year’s team, showcasing the wealth of talent within the women’s youth
division in the United States. The roster announcement concludes a successful
Selection Camp for the USA Boxing High Performance department at the United
States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center (USOPTC) in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The USA Boxing Women’s Youth High Performance Team comprises eight boxers from
across the United States, setting the stage for the Youth Team to compete
throughout the remainder of the year. The women’s roster spans eight weight
classes and features boxers from across five states nationwide.
“I’m excited about the women’s team and its ceiling, which appears to be
exceptionally high,” noted USA Boxing National Development Coach Edward
Fonteneaux. “I am looking forward to them shocking the world and capturing gold
medals along the way.”
Lauryn Elmore (Sacramento, Calif.) was named the women’s team captain after
securing a position on the Youth Team for the second consecutive year. Elmore
will lead the team with her veteran experience and push her teammates to
competitively excel at the highest levels of international competition.
“Lauryn is a self-starter, and her enthusiasm is contagious to everyone around
her, which encourages her peers to follow her without question,” Fonteneaux
stated of Elmore’s status as a team captain for 2026.
“I am excited to see how she performs throughout the year. She came into camp
even more focused and determined to win gold than last year.”

The 2026 USA Boxing Youth High Performance will first compete at the 2026 World
Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok, Thailand, March 8-15. The team will travel to
Thailand on Wednesday, March 4, departing from the USOPTC in Colorado Springs,
Colo.
The USA Boxing Youth High Performance Team is led by National Development Coach
Edward Fonteneaux (Fayetteville, N.C.). Fonteneaux will be assisted throughout
the year by High Performance Pool coaches, including Holly Gregson (Idaho Falls,
Idaho), Jason Hamilton (Spanaway, Wash.), Yessenia Montalvo (Bloomfield, N.J.)
and Ronald Wright (Columbus, Ga.).
