Boxing Dreams Leaving Early for Isis Sio After KO Loss?
by Sue TL Fox
March 22, 2026

(MAR 22) Last night in a scheduled four-round bout at the Orange Show Events Center, in San Bernardino, California, 19-year old Isis Afakasi Sio, now 1-3-0 (0KO), of Dickinson, North Dakota, was KO’d 1:18 seconds of the first round. She was fighting Jocelyn Camarillo, now 6-0-0 (1KO), of Indio, California. The two were fighting in the light flyweight division, both weighing in at 107 ½.

The boxing world is hoping that the  Isis Afakasi Sio, a young fighter whose dreams of championship gold have been tragically detoured by a single, devastating moment in the ring

Sio at this time, has been placed in a medically induced coma after suffering serious injuries when she was knocked out.

Sio began her professional boxing career after fighting in the amateurs at the age of 18 years old. Sio said that she got interested in boxing when she watched her dad and uncle box, and she decided to try it herself. More on Sio, on this video:

After she was knocked unconscious in the ring she was transported to Loma Linda University Health medical center for further treatment. Let’s hope that she recovers for this fight and that she can continue her goal to someday become a world champion.

As Sio fights the most critical "round" of her life in a hospital bed, the hopes of her hometown and the prayers of fans nationwide are with her. The gloves are off, and the focus remains solely on Isis waking up to pursue her dreams once more.
