LONDON, UK — August 6,
2026
—Media sources on the Internet report that former world title
challenger
Raven Chapman
had a severe medical emergency that occurred on
the following:
On Friday, July 24, 2026, the
32-year-old featherweight contender unexpectedly collapsed
immediately following a standard sparring session at a training
camp in Denmark. Emergency medical personnel responded rapidly
at the scene, and Chapman was airlifted to a local hospital for
urgent evaluation.
Upon arrival, medical specialists
diagnosed Chapman with a
brain hematoma and cerebral edema
(bleeding and swelling of the brain). She was taken directly
into emergency surgery. The surgical procedure was successful in
halting the intracranial bleeding and stabilizing the swelling.
To facilitate her initial recovery and protect brain function,
physicians subsequently placed her into a medically induced
coma.
Over the last 24 hours, doctors have successfully weaned Chapman
off sedatives. While she remains under strict medical
supervision and continues to receive treatment in Denmark, plans
are currently underway to arrange a medically supervised
repatriation to a hospital in the United Kingdom.
"Her doctors are doing everything they
can to support her recovery, and we remain hopeful as she
continues to fight through this incredibly difficult time,"
stated her management team Vote Boxing.
Chapman’s family has traveled to
Denmark and remains by her bedside.Chapman,
known in the ring as "The Omen," holds a prominent standing in
British boxing. She boasts a professional record of 10-2 and
made history in October 2024 by competing against Skye Nicolson
for the WBC featherweight title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia—the
first women's world title bout hosted in the kingdom.
Prayers are going
her way...that she can have a 100 percent recovery...as
information becomes available we will update boxing fans.
