Bermudez Makes it a Very Short Night for Bailey Winning by a First Round TKO

(SEPT 22) On September 20, 2025, at Hard Rock Casino in Ottawa, Canada, boxing fans gathered for a highly anticipated matchup. The main event of the evening featured two formidable female boxers: Evelin Nazarena Bermudez, 107 1/4, of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, known as "La Princesita," and Sara Bailey, 107 1/4, of Ontario, Canada.

The two were fighting for the prestigious IBF World Light Flyweight and WBO World Lightweight Flyweight titles. However, what in the first round left fans and pundits alike in a little bit of a shock.

As the first round commenced, both fighters stepped into the ring, with fans expecting a grueling close fight in a scheduled ten round bout. But, unfortunately, that did not happen! 

Just minutes into the first round, Bermudez combinations, the fight was stopped 1:47 seconds, when the Ref stopped the bout by TKO.

This victory for Bermundez not only showcased her talent inside the ring but also solidified her status as a champion in the world of boxing.

With the win, she captured the IBF World Light Flyweight and WBO World Lightweight Flyweight titles.

As the dust settled, questions began to swirl regarding the future of both fighters. Discussions about unifying titles or facing other champions are possibilities. .

Unfortunately, in this fight Sara Bailey is faced with a crossroads. She came into the fight with an undefeated record of 6-0-0 (0KO), and she has had some very impressive wins on her boxing record.  Time will tell for who she fights next.
