Alejandra “Locomotora” Oliveras was urgently admitted to Cullen Hospital in Santa Fe on Monday, July 14, after suffering a stroke and requiring emergency surgery 72 hours later. Alejandro Musacchio, the neurosurgeon who operated on her at the hospital, spoke with TN and revealed the cause of the stroke. Alejandra fought professional from 2005-2017.

Although her prognosis remains reserved, the former boxer showed slight improvement, allowing doctors to gradually remove her from mechanical ventilation.

Good news has arrived for Alejandra Oliveras. According to the authorities at the hospital where she remains hospitalized, La Locomotora showed slight improvement after suffering an ischemic stroke that paralyzed the entire left side of her body.

Although her prognosis remains reserved and she remains in intensive care, the former world champion boxer opened her eyes and "maintained periods of motor response," allowing doctors to gradually remove her from mechanical ventilation.

A few days ago, the former athlete underwent a percutaneous tracheotomy, which she underwent without complications. Therefore, as described in a previous report, they decided to reduce the dose of sedation and analgesia "to optimize the neurological evaluation" of the patient.

What the latest medical report from Locomotora Oliveras says
"Patient Oliveras Alejandra, 47, is on her twelfth day of hospitalization in the Intensive Care Unit of José María Cullen Hospital, where she was admitted for an ischemic stroke.

From a clinical standpoint, she is hemodynamically stable. Regarding her neurological progress, she maintains periods of motor response and eye opening, both spontaneously and on command.

Due to this clinical and neurological stability, the process of gradual weaning from mechanical ventilation has begun, with periods of spontaneous breathing. She continues to be under constant monitoring by the Intensive Care Unit team. Her prognosis remains guarded."

Sergio Martínez and Tigress Acuña's expressions of affection for Locomotora Oliveras.

Both Maravilla Martínez and Tigress Acuña did not hesitate to leave a heartfelt message for their colleague during this difficult time. "You've been a real pain in the ass in life. And I'm not talking about boxing. Maybe what happened to you was to prepare you for this, to get through this," the former world champion stated on his streaming channel. He then reinforced: "You're a machine and you had to dance with a tough one. You have to keep going until you have to throw in the towel, but that's not far off."

Similarly, Marcela (with whom Alejandra faced off several times in the ring) shared a photo with her and confessed: "I never imagined you'd be in this situation. Life put you between the ropes, but it's just another round."
