(NOV 9) Last night at the Manurewa Netball Centre,
Auckland, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea-born Hamilton boxer Shailla Yama
fought won a four-round unanimous decision over Rishon Harris, of Queenstown,
who was making her pro debut.
It was a very hot, muggy night in Auckland, and everyone was feeling it. But
that did not affect the fighters as they took the ring. Yama showed her ability
and outclassed her Harris, a kickboxer turned boxing, which got Yama's
hand raised.

Yama needed this fight to keep busy, as she has
become one of the most avoided female boxer between Australia and New Zealand.
Getting this fight made was a major hassle for the promoter Terry Tuteru, as no
one wanted to take the fight in New Zealand. However, on two weeks' notice, he
had found a Harris to take the fight.
Now that Yama has had this fight---she puts her sights on the next BX-9 event
that is happening on the 13th of December at Due Drop Events Centre, Manukau,
Auckland. However, the BX-9 promoter is experiencing the same problem as before,
as no one in New Zealand and Australia wants to fight her.

The promoter is even taking it as far as looking for
opponents across Asia and Africa to see who will take on Sheilla Yama. As of
now, we don’t know who the possible opponent is for Yama or if an opponent has
been found yet. But if all goes to plan, Yama will fight for a major regional
title that would put her in the top 15 in the world in one of the sanctioning
bodies.
In another bout on the card, Nathaneal Tuteru defeated Joe Ageli in a very close
nail nail-biting split decision. Nathaneal plans on taking time off from combat
sports after this to focus on family, as he expects the delivery of his first
child soon.
