Mizuki Hiruta Dominates Mai Soliman at the Pyramids of Giza to Retain WBO Super Flyweight Title
May 24, 2026

(MAY 24) GIZA, Egypt — Undefeated champion Mizuki Hiruta successfully defended her WBO world title at the historic Pyramids of Giza last night, securing a ten-round unanimous decision victory over challenger Mai Soliman.

With the win, Hiruta successfully defended her WBO Super Flyweight World Championship title for the seventh consecutive time.
The highly anticipated matchup was part of the monumental "Glory in Giza" fight card.

In what the media has reported, this event marked a historic milestone as the first professional boxing world title fight ever staged at the ancient Egyptian landmark.Hiruta, 114 ¾ lbs, of Tokyo, Japan, controlled the pace of the bout with her signature speed, and sharp combination punching.

Though  Soliman, 114 lbs, of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, landed some good combinations with some heavy straight right hands in the eighth round, she overcome Hiruta's defense.

Hiruta's remains undefeated with a 11-0-0 (2 KOs) boxing record.  Mai Soliman Record is now: 10-2-0 (6 KOs)

Judges' Final Scores: 99-91, 98-92, and 98-92 (Note: Official ringside records corrected initial reports of 92-8, 92-98, and 91-99 to reflect standard ten-point must system tallies.

Hiruta has held the WBO world title since 2022 and added The Ring Magazine's 2025 Female Fighter of the Year award.

After the fight took place at a post-fight conference, Hiruta said, "Thank you so much to my team and thank you to my best coach, Manny Robles. I am so happy but I will keep working hard. I want to be a global superstar, a true king of this division. Fighting in Egypt was an unbelievable experience. Yes we can, si se puede!"

There were no other female bouts featured on this event's card. The historic "Glory in Giza" undercard was built around this singular premier women's world title matchup, supporting the main event headlined by heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
