Gabriela Fundora Named a Third Time in 2025 as “Fighter of the Month
by Sue TL Fox
October 1, 2025

(OCT 1) In a showcase of talent and determination, boxing star Gabriela Fundora has once again captured WBAN's top pick for "Fighter of the month."  We named Fundora as our October 2025 Fighter of the month, that is the third time this year. This marks an extraordinary milestone for Fundora.

Since the inception of the Women Boxing Archive Network (WBAN) in 1998, only two other female boxers have previously been recognized as “Fighter of the Month” three times in a single year: Katie Taylor in 2019 and Dina Thorslund in 2024. Fundora is now the third female boxer to be added to this elite accomplishment.

Recently on September 20, 2025, at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California, where Gabriela Fundora successfully defended her IBF, WBC, and WBO World Flyweight titles against Alexas Kubicki. Fundora, won the bout winning by a seventh-round knockout (KO) victory.

Throughout 2025, Gabriela Fundora has displayed extraordinary skill and determination, securing her place among the elite fighters in women's boxing. Her journey has been marked by impressive victories which continues to take place, and she remains undefeated 17-0-0 (9KO), and is a multi-world champion in the Flyweight division.

As the longest-running online source for women's boxing news, rankings, and historical archives, WBAN continues to champion the growth of women's boxing.  We would like to congratulate Fundora on her continuing successes in Women's Boxing.
