(FEB 23) Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena was the center of the boxing world on Sunday, February 22, 2026, hosting a stacked card headlined Claressa Shields vs. Franchon Crews-Dezurn in a rematch.

Shields Remains Undisputed:  In the main event, Claressa Shields (18-0) successfully defended her undisputed heavyweight crown, putting against  Franchon Crews-Dezurn (10-3). Echoing their professional debuts nearly a decade ago, Shields utilized superior hand speed and timing to neutralize Crews-Dezurn’s power. All three judges scored the bout a shutout at 100-90, keeping Shields perfect in her professional career.

The co-main event between light heavyweights Atif Oberlton (15-0) and Joseph George Jr. (13-2) ended abruptly after just one round. Following a clash of heads, George collapsed on his stool in the corner, leading to a medical stoppage.

Title Changes and Under-Card Action:  WBA Light Heavyweight Title: Danielle Perkins (6-1) claimed the championship by stopping Che Kenneally (5-1) in the sixth round. Perkins landed a sharp right hook that opened a significant cut on Kenneally's lip, forcing the referee to halt the bout at the 1:45 mark.

Interim WBA Super Lightweight Title: In a notable upset, 45-year-old veteran Edith Soledad Matthysse defeated the previously unbeaten Samantha Worthington via eighth-round retirement (RTD).

Heavyweight Battles: Pryce Taylor improved to 11-0 with a dominant fifth-round TKO over James Evans, despite a chaotic moment where the referee was accidentally knocked to the canvas.

In a four-round heavyweight bout, Sardius Simmons earned a unanimous decision victory (40-36 on all cards) over Dylan Potter. In the super lightweight division, Lance Smith won by a third round TKO over Jorge Vizcarrondo, 141. The bout was scheduled for six rounds.

On the undercard, Jasmine Hampton, 110, won by a fifth round TKO over Agustina Vazquez, 109. The bout was scheduled for six rounds.

In another female bout, Savannah Tini, 139.2, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Vaida Masiokaite, 138.6.

Lastly, Jaquan McElroy, 154, won a four-round unanimous decision over Andre Johnson, 156.
