Jeanette Salazar:  Public Relations Director for the International Boxing Federation
October 2, 2025

(OCT 2) Jeanette Salazar currently serves as the Public Relations Director for the International Boxing Federation (IBF), a role she has held with dedication and distinction for nearly two decades.

Throughout her tenure, Jeanette has been a driving force behind the organization’s communications strategy, public image, and most notably, its wide-reaching charitable initiatives.

In her role, Jeanette oversees a range of philanthropic and community-focused efforts. She is deeply committed to using the platform of the IBF to uplift others. Under her leadership, the organization has remained actively engaged in altruistic projects such as annual holiday toy drives, fundraising events for individuals in need, support for amateur boxing programs, and various outreach initiatives that strengthen community ties.

Jeanette has become a passionate advocate for these causes championing the organization's mission to give back.

A proud New Jersey native, Jeanette holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University and a Master of Arts in Communications from Fordham University. Interestingly, a career in the boxing world wasn’t part of her original plan. Her entry into the sport came organically, through her support of her husband, Ricardo, who was actively involved in different facets of boxing, including work with the IBF.

The couple initially collaborated with the organization as independent contractors, but over time, Jeanette naturally assumed more responsibility. Her professionalism, insight, and strong work ethic led to her being invited to join the organization as a permanent staff member in 2010.

Since then, Jeanette has flourished in her role, growing not only as a skilled communications professional but also as a trusted and versatile member of the organization.

In addition to her work in public relations, she has been actively involved in the boxing operations side of the organization, gaining valuable insight.

This dual involvement has allowed her to approach her work with a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the sport’s inner workings.

She is grateful for the opportunities her position has afforded her—to travel, connect with people from around the globe, and, most importantly, to use her role as a means of giving back and supporting those facing challenges.

Her journey is a testament to the value of dedication, adaptability, and the unexpected paths that can lead to a meaningful and rewarding career.
