(OCT 1) DUBLIN, IRELAND
— The Women’s Boxing Archive Network (WBAN) has officially named
Katie Taylor as its October 2026 Fighter of the Month.
This prestigious honor follows Taylor's recent retirement from professional
boxing, cementing her legacy as one of the
very top and greatest female boxers to ever step into the ring.

Taylor closed the final chapter of her historic career in front
of a sold-out crowd of 83,000 boxing fans in Ireland,
where tickets for the monumental event famously sold out in
just 15 minutes.
Taylor’s retirement marks the end of an era for a fighter who
consistently sought out the toughest challenges available.
Operating in the sport's most fiercely competitive lightweight
and super-lightweight divisions, Taylor thrived in a deep pool
of world-class talent. Unlike the historically thinner heavier
weight classes, Taylor’s divisions required navigating a dense
gauntlet of elite contenders, making her long-standing dominance
all the more remarkable.
It is not surprising
that Taylor was the top P4P Female boxer named in many boxing
entities.

Among her defining career achievements, Taylor in her iconic
trilogy against Puerto Rican boxer
Amanda Serrano, defeating her three times in matchups. Taylor also avenged the sole blemish on her
professional record by winning a grueling rematch against
Chantelle Cameron.
As Taylor hangs up her gloves, she leaves behind an unparalleled
resume spanning both the amateur and professional ranks.
