BRISBANE, Australia — Cairns boxer Leah "Princess
Leah" Reuben secured a milestone in her professional career tonight, defeating
Ali Jensen by unanimous decision to capture a local Australian Super
Bantamweight title.

The eight-round bout took place at The Tivoli in
Fortitude Valley, where the 25-year-old Reuben outpointed the 38-year-old
Queensland veteran.
The victory adds another belt to Reuben's collection
alongside her existing WBC Australasian Super Bantamweight title, establishing
her as one of the region's top rising fighters.
While the win marks a new athletic high point for
the Cairns native, Reuben’s path to the championship ring began under much
tougher circumstances.
As a teenager, Reuben faced significant personal
struggles. She frequently found herself in trouble, lacked direction, and
struggled to navigate a difficult youth. Looking for an outlet to channel her
energy and escape the challenges of her daily life, she walked into a boxing
gym.

The sport quickly provided the structure,
discipline, and community she had been missing. "Boxing gave me a focus when I
really needed one," Reuben said.
"It taught me how to handle pressure and gave
me a community that backed me up when things were hard, added Reuben.
Now a dual-title
champion, Reuben splits her time between rigorous training camps and working as
a youth support worker. She uses her own experiences to mentor young people
going through similar hardships, showing them that a difficult start does not
dictate their future.
