grief over two young female boxers who lost their lives this week. Dual
Tragedies Claim Lives of 26-Year-Old Hannah Rapp in Texas and 13-Year-Old Dafne
Zapata in Mexico.
The international boxing community is in deep
mourning following two sudden, unrelated, and tragic deaths of young female
fighters on opposite sides of the border.
On July 18, 2026, Hannah “Hanarchy” Rapp Killed in Texas Road Incident In Brazos
County, Texas, the boxing world is in deep mourning from the sudden death
of 26-year-old boxer Hannah “Hanarchy” Rapp.
According to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred along FM
159. Investigators state that a driver, identified as 31-year-old Charles
Medina, passed two bicyclists traveling on the road. After passing them,
authorities report that Medina stopped his vehicle, reversed, and struck one of
the cyclists.
Medina was arrested and charged with manslaughter. He was transported to the
Brazos County Detention Center without incident.
While investigators believe this was an isolated incident, the investigation
remains active and ongoing as detectives continue to gather evidence.

In a second tragedy, on July 16, 2026, 13-Year-Old Prospect Dafne Zapata Died at Summer Camp in
Mexico under suspicious circumstances.

Simultaneously, Mexican boxing is in mourning following the tragic death of
13-year-old prospect Dafne Zapata Quintos Martínez
Dafne, a dedicated student at Mike's Gym, had traveled to Ciudad Madero,
Tamaulipas, to attend a summer camp run by a military training academy.
Hours after being dropped off, her mother received a phone call delivering the
news that Dafne had collapsed in the restrooms and lost her life.
Prior to her death, Dafne had sent her mother a photograph showing an injury to
her face. Subsequent investigations determined that the young boxer died of
asphyxiation.
The investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding her death continues
as her family and the local boxing community demand justice.

Mourning in Mexican Boxing: Justice for Dafne--She was just a 13-year-old
girl with her whole life ahead of her; her name was Dafne Zapata Quintos
Martínez. A student at Mike's Gym, she excitedly asked her mother to take
her to a summer camp, where she surely expected to spend a dream vacation.
Dafne's mother took her to that summer camp—run by a military training
academy—in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas. Dafne's mother never imagined that
when she drop her off her little girl and said goodbye at the camp, that she was
saying goodbye to her beloved daughter forever. Hours later, Dafne's
mother received a call she never imagined—and one no parent should ever have to
receive: tragically, Dafne had collapsed in the restrooms and lost her life.
Without any explanation as to how or why, she simply knew her daughter had
passed away. What is strange about this is that, prior to that fateful
call, Dafne had sent her mother a photo showing an injury to her face.
Investigations determined that Dafne died of asphyxiation; indeed, she drowned
in the summer camp's restrooms, according to preliminary autopsy results.
Investigations are ongoing. Dafne arrived at that camp full of
excitement, eager to have fun and learn things that would aid in her personal
development. But now, a family mourns the death of a granddaughter,
a cousin, a niece, a daughter.
