( JUNE 7) On May 30,
2026, former world champion Yokasta Valle faced
Lourdes "Lulu" Juarez in a highly anticipated,
battle for the vacant WBC World Light Flyweight
Championship. After 10 grueling rounds of elite
boxing, Juarez secured the world title via a close
split decision victory. The judges' scoring
reflected the competitive nature of the bout,
returning tallies of 94-95, 95-94, and 91-98.

Breaking her silence one
week after the championship clash, Valle shared an
statement across her social media platforms.
Reflecting on the outcome with perspective, she
emphasized that the final scorecards do not diminish
her career achievements or her dedication to the
sport.
"A week later, with a
calmer heart, I understand something: I can't be sad
when I know I gave it all away," Valle stated.
"Sure, it does hurt. Because a fight doesn't start
when the bell goes off. It starts months early—every
early morning, every workout, every sacrifice, every
day away from family, every moment where the body is
tired but the heart decides to go on. The result
wasn't what we dreamed of, but one night doesn't
erase my story. One night doesn't erase everything
I've built. One night doesn't define who I am."
Valle also addressed her
fanbase and dismissed online detractors, focusing
instead on the outpouring of community support she
has received since the decision.

"True champions don't
stay on the ground: they get up, learn, correct, and
come back stronger," Valle continued. "Thanks to
God, my family, my team, and all the people who have
written to me with so much love. Your messages have
hugged my soul. And about the hate, I really don't
have time for that. When I go out on the street I
find pure love, respect, and support from people,
and that weighs much more than any word spoken from
hate."

Looking forward, Valle
made her future intentions clear, officially
declaring her desire to step back into the ring with
Juarez to settle the score.
"I will look for a
rematch against Lulu—not from sadness, but from the
strength, faith, and conviction of a champion who
knows how to rise—because my story didn't end that
night."

Details regarding
Valle’s return to training camp and official
negotiations for a potential rematch will be
announced by her promotional and management team as
they develop.
The exceptional display
of skill I saw in this bout is amazing how far we
have come in women's boxing.
With that thought
in mind....Given the extraordinary caliber of
modern competitors, any evaluation of the sport's
elite must inherently be expressed in the plural.
There is no singular 'greatest'; rather, there
is an elite collective of extraordinary fighters
(plural) of many great top female boxers---who
elevate the sport together.
