Mariana "Barbie" Juarez successfully
defends her WBC Silver title over Japan's Tomomi Takano
October 14, 2025
(OCT 14) On Saturday night, in Naucalpan,
Mexico, Mariana "Barbie" Juarez fought Japan's Tomomi Takano in a ten-round bout
and was defending her WBC Silver Super Bantamweight title. Juarez won the bout
easily winning all ten rounds with the final judges scores of 100-90 on all
cards.
What was promised to be an interesting matchup
between these two, ended in being a very easy night for Juarez when she
dominated the bout against Takano in all ten rounds.
To be quite honest in watching this bout, it was almost painful to sit through
watching this bout---but it became obvious from the start of this bout that Takano was
not to the level of veteran
boxer Juarez.
WBC reported, "The WBC Silver Super Bantamweight
Champion, Mariana “Barby” Juárez, continues to make her mark on Mexican boxing.
The ably experienced fighter added a new victory to her career by defeating
Japan’s Tomomi Takano via unanimous decision in a bout that allowed her to
reaffirm her hierarchy before putting an end to a legendary career." WBAN has posted the Youtube video:
Juárez is more than just a fighter; she is a pioneer in the sport, having held
titles in both the bantamweight and super flyweight divisions. Her journey
reflects the evolution of women’s boxing, and every bout further engraves her
name deeper into boxing history.
