Born on September 5, 2003, Kayla "The Truth" Gomez is an elite boxer from El Paso, Texas, competing in the 115-pound division.
 
As an amateur, Gomez established herself as one of the most accomplished young female boxers in the United States, compiling an outstanding record of 120 wins and 8 losses. She is an 18-time National Champion, a 10-time international medalist (8 of those being gold medals), a Pan American Games gold medalist, and a two-time back to back Continental Champion, two-time time back to back National Golden Gloves Champion. 
 
Her exceptional achievements in the ring earned her recognition as a two-time Under Armour Athlete of the Year.

On June 19, 2026, Gomez made her professional debut and earned her first victory, beginning her professional career with a record of 1-0.
 


 
Following her hiatus, Kayla "The Truth" Gomez made her highly anticipated professional debut on June 19, 2026, at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California. Fighting as a super flyweight on a card broadcasted globally via DAZN, she defeated Shayntain Creer by a dominant four-round unanimous decision.

Known for her determination, technical skill, and competitive spirit, Gomez proudly represents El Paso and the United States while training under coach Crystal Aceves. As she continues her professional journey, Gomez remains focused on reaching the highest levels of the sport and inspiring the next generation of female athletes.

A few years ago, WBAN had the pleasure of covering a Beautiful Brawlers Show in Pacifica, California.   Sue TL Fox watched Kayla Gomez in a 10-round sparring session with another talented amateur boxer. Fox said, "she was absolutely amazing in the ten-rounds of boxing action."

"Boxing fans should keep their eye on this very talented boxer who has just entered the professional ranks in the sport," added Fox.
