ORLANDO, FL (July 1, 2026) — WBAN has officially announced Mexican sensation Estefany Alegría Osorio as its WBAN's July 2026 Fighter of the Month. The prestigious distinction comes as Osorio’s upset victory on June 13, 2026.

Sue TL Fox wrote about the event that took place on June 13th, with the following:  "In the night's biggest shocker, Mexico's Estefany Alegria Osorio (107.5 lbs) outworked the favored Evelin Nazarena Bermudez (106.75 lbs) of Argentina. Estefany Alegria Osorio defeats Bermudez

Stepping into the ring as an obvious underdog, Alegría Osorio caused an upset against the reigning unified champion, Evelin Nazarena Bermúdez who was favored in this fight going into the 10-round title bout.  The event took place at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida, and broadcast live globally on ESPN+. It was promoted by Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promtions (MVP).

Bermúdez, fighting out of Santa Fe, Argentina, entered the ring riding a wave of momentum following her recent marquee signing with MVP Promotions in April.

Although Bermúdez was favored in this bout,  Alegría Osorio surprised boxing fans and more when she defeated her.  Osorio won the bout by a unanimous decision.
