Jasmine Artiga to Defend Her WBA World Title: All Eyes on the Ring This Saturday

(AUG 19) This Saturday, August 23, boxing fans to a female bout featuring Jasmine “Animal” Artiga, of Tampa, Florida,  who will be defending her WBA Flyweight world title against Linn Sandstrom at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida. Both fighters, aged 33, bring impressive records to the table when they face each other in the ring.

Artiga, now 13-0-1 (6KO)  has shown remarkable skill and resilience throughout her career. Her last fight took place on  March 22, 2025, where she won by a 10-round majority decision against Regina Chavez to win the WBA Flyweight World title.

Linn Sandstrom enters the bout with a record of 10-3-3 (2KO). Linn hails from New South Wales, Australia, Sandstrom is no stranger to high-pressure situations. Last March, she secured an  unanimous decision victory over Yoselin Fernandez, claiming the IBF International Super Flyweight title.

Linn turned pro in 2020, when she made her pro debut on August 26, 2020, in Australia.

Artiga began fighting as a pro since 2017, when she debuted on May 13, 2017, winning by KO, and then returning to the ring two months later, stopping her opponent Dallas Shuman in the first round by TKO in a scheduled four-round bout in both fights.

Viewers can catch this fight live on DAZN, making it accessible for fans around the globe.  The card is being promoted by MVP Promotions, promoter Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul.

Whether you're a longtime boxing aficionado or new to the sport, this matchup is sure to be a exciting 10-rounder.
