LAS VEGAS, NV (January 24, 2025)  Daisy Lang of Bulgaria. She is a world champion and boxing pioneer in Europe. Her career Spanned three countries: Bulgaria, Germany and the USA. Daisy was inducted into the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame [IWBHF] in 2017 IWBHF in 2017. Lang is not only a world champion but also a true pioneer in the realm of women's boxing across Europe and beyond. As she prepares to receive the prestigious 2025 IWBHF Lifetime Achievement Award, it’s essential to reflect on her illustrious career and the impact she has made in the boxing community and women's sports as a whole.

Lang's journey into professional boxing began in February 1996 in Germany. Training under the esteemed Universum Box-Promotion, she showcased her potential right from the start, winning her first three fights in a gripping fashion, two of them by knockout. Her tenacity and skill quickly earned her recognition in a male-dominated sport, allowing her to carve out a path for future generations of female boxers.

In February of 1998, Lang won the vacant WIBF European Bantamweight title after an impressive ten-round fight against Krisztina Horvai, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.

The period from 1999 to 2002 was monumental for Daisy Lang, as she not only became the WIBF World Champion but also successfully defended her title against formidable opponents, including Sonia Pereira and Kathy Williams. Her victory over Gizella Papp in July 1999 for the vacant WIBF Super Flyweight title was particularly memorable, as it showcased her grit and skill in the ring.

After her last professional match in 2004, Lang left a lasting legacy that transcended personal accolades, influencing the next wave of female fighters.

Lang’s excellence extends beyond boxing. Her impressive array of accomplishments includes titles in various martial arts disciplines, such as being a European Taekwondo Champion in 1992 and a World Kickboxing Champion in 1995. Her multifaceted talent and versatility have garnered recognition from numerous institutions, with honors that include the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award from the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame and the Master Hall of Fame Inductee recognition in 2019, and more.

Lang’s affectionate nickname, "The Lady," encapsulates her dual identity—her grace outside the ring and her fierce ferocity within it. While she often expressed a preference for the name "Leopard," symbolizing agility and strength, she acknowledged that her nature aligns with being a "true Lady."

As she receives the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award, it's vital to recognize Daisy Lang not merely as an athlete but as a trailblazer who paved the way for aspiring female boxers everywhere. Her dedication, sacrifices, and accomplishments serve as an inspiration, reminding us that whether in the ring or life, the fight for excellence knows no gender.
