(APR 13) EL PASO, TEXAS — On May 30, 2026, The
County Coliseum is set to ignite as El Paso’s own undefeated World Champion
Stephanie Han (12-0-0, 3 KOs), steps back into the ring for a rematch against
sports icon Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm (34-3-3, 9 KOs).
This highly anticipated main event serves as the
definitive conclusion to their January 3, 2026, encounter, which ended in a
controversial technical decision. After a promising start, the first bout was
cut short due to a severe laceration suffered by Han following an accidental
headbutt. Now, both fighters return to settle the score once and for all in a
clash of eras and styles.

WBAN has covered the chronicle of
Holly Holm's career for many
years. The relationship between WBAN and Holm is etched in history, dating back
to June 2008 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. On that night, Holm made history by
headlining the first-ever WBAN P4P title fight title fight, defeating Mary
Jo Sanders to capture the inaugural WBAN belt alongside the IFBA and WBF titles.
WBAN has been ringside for many of the fights Holm has been featured in,
including her very first MMA bout at the Isleta Casino.
This rematch also evokes memories of the most talked-about "super-fight" that
never was. In December 2012, the boxing world was set ablaze when Holm’s
promoter, Lenny Fresquez, announced negotiations for a showdown with Cecilia
“First Lady” Braekhus.
At the time, Braekhus publicly challenged Holm, stating, "I do understand that
you are avoiding me... next July I will be in Las Vegas. Let's find out who is
the best female fighter in the world."
Shortly thereafter, Lenny Fresquez sent out a press release stating, "Less than 24 hours after the World Boxing Council (WBC)
Female Championship Committee ordered a mega-fight between
undefeated WBC welterweight champion Cecilia "First Lady"
Braekhus (21-0, 5 KOs) and 14-time, three-division world
champion Holly "The Preacher's Daughter" Holm (32-2-3, 9 KOs),
Braekhus' promoter, Sauerland Boxing, notified Holm's promoter,
Fresquez Productions, that Braekhus had instead agreed to fight
45-year-old Mia "The Knockout" St. John (47-12-2, 18 KOs) on
April 13 in Denmark.
"This is an embarrassment for our sport," Fresquez said.
"Holly Holm is the Queen of Boxing and she was ready to fight
Braekhus. They've been using Holly's name for the last two
years, so they could build Braekhus' name, and we've been
chasing her for that long. Based on their decision to fight Mia,
they obviously aren't serious about fighting Holly. I don't
understand why they challenged Holly and then, after we had
accepted their challenge, ducked her again. Maybe they expected
certain demands from us, giving them an easy way out of the
fight, to make them look good in the media and public. In that
video, Breakhus made a big deal about Holly being knocked out by
(Ann Sophie) Mathis, but Holly showed the heart of a champion by
sticking to her game plan to win their rematch. Braekhus used
Holly's same game plan to beat Mathis. Sauerland and Braekhus
have turned their backs, once again, on being in the greatest
women's fight of all-time, which is another black eye for
women's boxing."
Full Press Release,
originally published on December 6, 2013.
While that historic bout between the world’s top two
P4P fighters ultimately eluded fans due to promotional back-and-forth, Holm’s
willingness to face the best has never been in question. Now, in 2026, she faces
a new P4P threat in Stephanie Han.
Tickets are available now through the County Coliseum Box Office and all major
outlets.
