(NOV 29)  On Saturday night, November 23rd, at the Olympiastuetzpunkt in Heidelberg, Germany, Tina Rupprecht of Germany added the WBA and WBO belts to her WBC belt to become the unified atomweight champion by defeating former unified atomweight champion Eri Matsuda of Japan.  Full Story

Oshae Jones Defeats Femke Hermans to Win IBF and IBO Super Welterweight Titles

(NOV 29) On Friday night, November 22nd, at Corey Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, Oshae “Suga” Jones of Toledo, Ohio won the IBF and IBO super welterweight titles against Femke “Thunder” Hermans of Belgium. Hermans was making the third defense of her IBO title and the first defense of her IBF title. Hermans had defeated Mary Spencer of Canada by unanimous decision to win the vacant IBO title in 2022. In the rematch in 2023, Hermans defeated Spencer by majority decision to win the vacant IBF title.  Full Story

(NOV 27) Who would have thought that the Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano fight would have 50 Million viewers watching a female fight on Netflix---no less. The live-streamed boxing card headlined Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, which gave this opportunity for Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano to show what women’s boxing was all about.
What some of you may not know is that WBAN has been covering women’s boxing at boxing events in the late 1990's, with some of the shows being all-female cards. Full Story

World Boxing backs plan to create a new Confederation in Asia

(NOV 24) BANGKOK  – World Boxing has welcomed the creation of a new Asian Confederation to represent and promote boxing in the region, marking a significant milestone for the sport. Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, who recently stepped down from his role at the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) following challenges in securing its independence from the International Boxing Association (IBA), has pledged his support to this groundbreaking initiative. Germany:  Eri Matsuda Set to fight Tina Rupprecht on November 23, 2024 in a  Unification Championship bout

(NOV 21)  Eri Matsuda, a Japanese professional boxer that currently is the WBA, and WBO Atomweight champion.  She is set to fight on November 23, 2024 against  WBC Champion Tina Rupprecht of Germany, in a ten-round bout.  The two will be fighting a championship unifiation bout for the WBA, WBO and WBC world titles.  Tina is 13-1-1 (3KO) and Eri is 7-1-1 (3KO) going into the bout.  Full Story

(NOV 18) On Friday night, November 15th, at the Steamfitters 449 Union Hall in Harmony, Pennsylvania, entitled the "Brawl at the Hall 2" event promoted by Derek Gionta of Gionta Management, Mary Casamassa from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania won the vacant Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) middleweight title against Adriana Dos Santos Araujo from Brazil. (NOV 17) Last night at Camp Withycombe in Clackamas, Oregon, Anne Maxwell, of Mt. Vernon, Washington faced Kathlyn Martinez, of North Plains, Oregon,  in a super flyweight bout scheduled for four rounds. The event was promoted by Arena Wars Promotions. Maxwell’s previous ring experience came as an amateur kickboxer. Martinez had won all three of her professional boxing matches, and this would be her first professional fight outside of Mexico.  Full Story

Team USA Dominated 2024 World Boxing U19 Championships, Brought Home Historic Medals

(NOV 14) COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -– The 2024 World Boxing U19 Championships, held in Pueblo, Colorado, concluded on November 2, 2024. Team USA sent 11 boxers, six male and five females, to World Boxing inaugural World Championships.Team USA with little international experience went to Colorado and earned eight medals including three gold. Lorenzo Patricio (50 kg), Joseph Awinongya (75 kg), and Elijah Lugo (80 kg) dominated their weight classes and earned the first World Boxing gold medals and etched their name in the history books. New Zealand volunteer Boxing records keeper calls it quits after 10 years of service

(NOV 3) 32-year-old Boxing records keeper for and judge Benjamin Thomas Watt (Ngāpuhi) has decided to retire after 10 years of service to New Zealand boxing after 2024.  Watt started records keeping for Boxrec in November 2014 and has been a boxing judge since March 2015. He is known for wearing many hats, including Wikipedia editing, freelance boxing writer, YouTube personality with Gladrap channel, and, of course, records keeping and boxing judging.
