Two Female Bouts to be featured on a BOXXER card and live and exclusive on Sky Sports
November 19, 2024

(NOV 19) On December 14, 2024, on the “Collision Course” boxing event, at the Exhibition Centre, Liverpool, England and presented by BOXXER, will be live and exclusively by Sky Sports will feature two female Professional bouts fighting for world titles.

In one bout, Natasha Jonas and Ivana Habazin are set to face each other to unify the IBF and WBC World Welterweight titles. In a second female bout, Lauren Price MBE defends her WBA, IBO and Ring Magazine World Welterweight titles against Bexcy Mateus.

Details from a BOXXER press release: IBF World Champion Natasha Jonas will fight WBC World Title holder Ivana Habazin in a huge hometown unification showdown on Saturday, December 14th at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool, presented by BOXXER, live and exclusive on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland and Peacock in the USA.

The global reach of these broadcasting platforms highlights the growing popularity and recognition of women's boxing. It is a testament to the skill, dedication, and talent of these athletes that their fights are being showcased to such a wide audience.

Jonas (15-2-1, 9 KOs) will top the bill in her hometown of Liverpool in her sixth straight world title contest under the BOXXER promotional banner.

Habazin (23-6, 7 KOs) is the current WBC World Champion having outpointed Kinga Magyar to capture the vacant green and gold belt in April this year. The 35-year-old from Zagreb, Croatia, who has shared the ring with some of the greatest female fighters of the modern era including Cecilia Brækhus and Claressa Shields, has previously held the IBF World Welterweight Title and is also a former IBO World Middleweight Champion.

Lauren Price MBE (7-0, 1 KO) defends her WBA, IBO and Ring Magazine World Welterweight Titles against unbeaten Colombian contender Bexcy Mateus.

Mateus (7-0, 6 KOs), ranked #5 with the WBA, is undefeated in the professional ranks having won all but one of her seven fights by knockout. The 29-year-old from Bogota, fighting outside of her native Colombia for the first time, will now get her first shot at world glory and she aims to dethrone Price and position herself on top of the welterweight pile.
