WBAN was told that Dee's corner stopped the fight before coming out for the eight. Also down twice in the first round.

(SEPT 20) Yesterday a press conference was held at the Madison Square Garden, in New York, where it was announced that 28-year old Laila Ali will be fighting on November 11, 2006, on the undercard, of the Wladmir Klitschko vs. Calvin Brock card. Laila will make her boxing debut at the Garden, 35 years after her father, Muhammad Ali fought Joe Frazier at the Garden.  Full Story

At the conference the featured doctors, trainers, boxers, commissioners, and the boxing community involved. Twenty-year-old Fredee González's dreams of a world title lay in ruins last night as Zulina Muñoz (one year younger and a whole lot more talented, it seems) beat her for the second time in ten weeks; and this time — as she had promised — she did so far more convincingly.
