(JUNE 27) (MOBILE, ALA.) – The 42nd annual USA Boxing National Junior Olympic National Championships opened tournament action on Wednesday with two preliminary round sessions at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center in Mobile, Ala. Forty-eight preliminary round bouts in 11 weight divisions kicked off the 2013 event, which is returning to Mobile for the third straight year. (JUNE 17) On June 14, 2013, at the Water Front Congress SAS Radisson, in Stockholm, Sweden, Frida Wallberg faced Diana Prazak in a world title bout. Wallberg was defending her WBC Super featherweight belt, and fighting for the WBAN Super Featherweight belt against Prazak.  In a "Bittersweet" win for Prazak, Wallberg was stopped in the eighth round by TKO, and was in immediate trouble in the ring.  She was taken by stretcher out of the ring, and sent to a hospital where she underwent surgery for ...Full Story Update!

(JUNE 15) Last night in Stockholm, Sweden,  Frida Wallberg was fighting Diana Prazak in a 10-round world title fight for the WBC and OUR WBAN super Featherweight world title bout. She was KO'd in the eighth round, and ended up being taken out by stretcher to a hospital. Lisa Garland Wins by TKO in 12 round title bout

(JUNE 10) On Saturday night at the EchoStage Lounge, in Washington D.C., Lisa Garland, 146, of York South Carolina, fought Kerri Hill, 143, of Little Rock, Arkansas, in a scheduled 12 round title bout, at three minutes per round (we have been told).  The two fought for the WIBC and WIBU title belts.  Garland won by a eighth round TKO 1:06 over Hill.

(JUNE 2) Last night in Ecatepec, México, Kika Chavez, now 18-3-2 (4KO) of Mexico City, Mexico, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Yesica Bopp, 108, 24-1-0 (11KO), Buenos Aires, Argentina.  The two were fighting for the WBC Sliver light flyweight title.  Scores were 97-93, 96-95, and 97-93.

(JUNE 2)  In Rio Negro, Argentina, Daniela Romina Bermudez, now 14-2-2 (4KO), stopped her opponent in the FIRST round by TKO.  She fought Neisi Torres, now 8-1-1, who's PAST OPPONENTS had ALL losing records.  Boxrec had Torres rated #47, Bermundez rated #7 before the fight.

(JUNE 2)  Last night at the  Salle Roger Boileau, Dombasle-sur-Meurthe, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France,  Light Middleweight Anne Sophie Mathis won by a fifth round TKO over Yahaira Hernandez. The two were fighting for the WBF title. In another female bout Marina Sakharov won a six rounder by points over Audrey Tacconi.

(JUNE 1) (COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – The United States squad recorded four victories on day two of the Cheo Aponte Tournament in Caguas City, Puerto Rico on Thursday evening. Team USA’s two female competitors, Virginia Fuchs (Kemah, Texas) and Tiara Brown (Fort Myers, Fla.), both enjoyed dominating wins in their opening bouts in Puerto Rico. Flyweight Shawn Simpson (Chicago, Ill.) and welterweight Jamontay Clark (Cincinnati, Ohio) advanced as well with unanimous decision victories. ..Full Story
