featured quarterfinal contests with all of the boxers vying for a
spot in the semifinal round at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention

(International Amateur Boxing Association) and its ruling to have

(JUNE 27) (MOBILE, ALA.) – The 42nd
annual USA Boxing National Junior Olympic National Championships
opened tournament action on Wednesday with two preliminary round
sessions at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center in Mobile, Ala.
Forty-eight preliminary round bouts in 11 weight divisions kicked
off the 2013 event, which is returning to Mobile for the third
straight year. Returning champion Ruben Villa (Salinas, Calif.) took
the first step toward his second straight Junior Olympic title with

new Board of Directors, which includes a prominent list of ten
community leaders, to lead the organization in a new and positive
direction. The board breakdown includes four independent directors,
a general membership director as well as affiliated organization
director, Local Boxing Committee (LBC) director, AIBA representative
and athlete representatives. Dr. Charles Butler (Kalamazoo, Mich.)
has been elected by his fellow Board of Directors’ members to return

Radisson, in Stockholm, Sweden, Frida Wallberg faced Diana Prazak in
a world title bout. Wallberg was defending her WBC Super
featherweight belt, and fighting for the WBAN Super Featherweight

Germany, light welterweight Klara Svensson, of Malmo, Sweden, won by
a fifth round TKO over Irene Gambrah, of Aachen, Germany. The fight
was scheduled for eight rounds. This was a non-title bout. It is
difficult to understand why a four-round fighter [Gambrah] with one
win would jump to fighting eight rounds, and not four.
(JUNE 16) Frida Wallberg is now
awake. Her boyfriend said, "shee is tired and dazed", but well
considering the circumstances. The first she wanted to talk about
was the fight with Prazak. On Twitter that has spread around
the net, Frida is quoted as saying "I'm Ok"! WBAN will keep up

(JUNE 15) Last night in Stockholm, Sweden, Frida Wallberg
was fighting Diana Prazak in a 10-round world title fight for the
WBC and OUR WBAN super Featherweight world title bout. She was KO'd
in the eighth round, and ended up being taken out by stretcher to a
hospital. She has undergone surgery for a severe brain hemorrhage.
