(JUNE 19) Earlier today
WBAN received a "behind the scenes" letter from Lucia Rijker,
who prepared Diana Prazak for her fight against Frida Wallberg,
in the HISTORY-FIRST WBAN BELT to be fought in Sweden, that took
place on June 14th in Stockholm.
Rijker told WBAN....
After seven weeks of hard
work with Diana Prazak we succeeded in our mission to KO Friday
wallberg in the 8th rd on June 14th 2013.
After a short lived 30 seconds of joy our celebrated victory turned
into a nightmare!
"The million dollar baby nightmare!!"
After a roller coaster of miscommunications and inexperience of
the promoter we were still uncertain, four days before departure
for camp in Holland on June 14th, whether we actually had a fight
or not.
Long story short.
Diana needed the first four rounds to get her rhythm but despite
the powerful blows of Frida, Diana was unstoppable and
continued counter punching with consistent body shots until she
took Frida's legs away!
In the fifth, Diana started to step up and wake up, the 7th she got Frida hurt and the eight
round in an exchange of punches Diana
landed a double body shot on the right, followed by a perfect
short left hook on the chin of Frida and this punch basically
ended Frida's career.
Frida got an eight count but never recovered so she got hit
again with a combination that partly landed on her arm and then
she went down again and the rest is history!
I am very proud of Diana and how determined she has been to beat
Frida in her hometown while staying on track through the
uncertainty of the journey leading up to this fight.
We worked hard on body shots and especially the short left hook
to the head!
(Diana calls it the "Rijker" hook)
Diana is a true Champion and she continues to grow like a true
champion does!
My heart goes out to Frida and her Family after this tragedy
that ended her career.
I am committed to chant (pray) everyday for Frida's full
recovery!!
A victory at the expense of another person's well-being made me
aware of the law of cause and effect at work.
After I held Frida's lifeless body in my arms while her moaned
loudly, penetrated my heart and cut through my soul. I realized
that Frida's pain is our ( every fighters) pain!
After watching the replay of Frida's collapse and when hearing
the moaning again a search of pain penetrated my heart again and
a burst of uncontrollable tears accompanied by loud screaming
took control of my body for more then 30 min!!!
I am really sorry Frida for this accident/tragedy!!!
Lets learn from this incident that only God knows what the true
causes are that lead up to this!
Good nutritional weight loss, good responsible coaches, the
right game plan and a good corner, are all part protecting our
fighters.
With great respect,
Lucia Rijker
