Card is promoted by Boxing Insider Promotions. Membership of World Boxing rises to 51 National Federations after it approves applications from seven more countries

(OCT 30) RENES, Switzerland  -- World Boxing, the International Federation established to ensure boxing remains at the heart of the Olympic Movement, now has 51 members after it approved seven new applications from the National Federations for boxing in Andorra, Belgium, Iraq, Lithuania, Madagascar, Kyrgyzstan and Thailand.  All of the applications have been approved by World Boxing’s Executive Board and significantly enhance its global footprint. Madagascar is the third African nation to join after Nigeria and Algeria. Iraq is the first Arab country to become a member.  Full Story

(October 27) PUEBLO, Colo. -- Team USA will have twelve boxers competing at the 2024 World Boxing U19 Championships. These twelve boxers learned their paths to gold, including their first-round opponents during Friday tournament draw.  The 2024 World Boxing U19 Championships boxing tournament has 20 weight divisions, 10 men’s and 10 women’s. Competition in Pueblo, Colo. will begin on Saturday, October 26 before concluding on Saturday, November 2, at the Pueblo Convention Center.  Full Story

Denmark's Dina Thorslund successfully Defends her WBC/WBO Bantamweight Titles

(OCT 26) Last night at the Graakjaer Arena in Holstebrol, Denmark, undefeated WBC bantamweight champion, Dina Thorslund, successfully defended her WBC/WBO titles against Japanese bantamweight champion of the Eastern and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) and three-time world challenger, Terumi Nuki.
Thorslund raised her boxing record to 23-0-0 (9KO), and Nuki is now 15-6-0 (10KO).  Full Story

Gabriela Fundora to fight Gabriela Alaniz in a Unification of World Titles in Las Vegas

(OCT 24) On November 2, 2024, at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Nevada, undefeated IBF Flyweight World Champion Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora (14-0, 6 KOs), of Coachella, California will be facing WBA, WBC, WBO Flyweight World Champion Gabriela “LA Chuky” Alaniz (15-1, 6 KOs), from Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to a press release from Golden Boy Promotions, they said that this is historic for the flyweight division, and that to date there has never been an undisputed female champion in the flyweight division Full Story

Busy Weekend for Women's Boxing Worldwide

(OCT 23) This past weekend, there were some interesting women's boxing matches on various boxing events around the world. Most of the boxing action took place on Saturday, October 19th.  WithoAt the Copper Box Arena, in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Hackney Wick, Catherine Tacone Ramos, 124, of Santos, Sao Paulo, Brazil, won a six-rounder by points over Shannon Courtenay, 128 1/4, of Watford, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. (OCT 22) RENES, Switzerland  -- More than 180 boxers from 30 National Federations will compete in the 2024 U19 World Boxing Championships which get underway this week at the Pueblo Convention Center, Colorado, USA (October 26 – November 2, 2024)

(OCT 21) On Friday night on October 19th, at the Estadio Cubierto Aconcagua Arena, in Ciudad Mendoza, Argentina, we saw some new kids on the block for women's boxing when there were two female boxers from Argentina donning the boxing card. In one bout, Brisa Abigail Rosario Alfonzo, 126 3/4, of Argentina, won a six-round unanimous decision over Daiana Marisa Molina, 120 1/4, of Chubut, Argentina. Full Story

Interesting Female Bout added to the November 15th card of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Card

(OCT 19) On November 15th, at the AT&T Stadium, in Arlington, Texas, another interesting female bout has been added to the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card. World Boxing agrees to delegate adjudication on all anti-doping violations

(OCT 11) RENES, Lausanne, Switzerland – World Boxing has agreed to delegate adjudication on all anti-doping violations to the Anti-Doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS AAD), a separate entity of the CAS which deals solely with Anti- doping hearings.  It means that CAS ADD will be the first instance authority to adjudicate on all alleged violations detected by World Boxing’s anti-doping processes and will decide on the appropriate sanction for any breach of the rules.  Full Story

Lukas Ekes Out Decision to Obtain IBO Super Flyweight Title

(OCT 8) On Sunday, October 6th, at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Angelina “Barbie” Lukas of Kazakhstan obtained the vacant International Boxing Organization (IBO) super flyweight title by a controversial unanimous decision over Debora Anahi Lopez of Argentina. Lukas was rated No. 9 by the IBO in the super flyweight division. Lopez was not rated only because she had been inactive for over one year. Lopez was a ranked contender by two sanctioning bodiesin April 2024 in the bantamweight division: No. 10 by the WBO and No. 14 by the IBF. Full Story

(OCT 5)  Today at the Westend Market Hotel, in Sunshine, Australia, Stephanie Lee Cutting, of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, won an eight-rounder by points over Jaala Tomat, also out of Melbourne. Sandy Ryan Assaulted At the Hotel Entrance, Demands a Rematch

(OCT 2) British boxer Sandy Ryan faced a disturbing incident just hours before her WBO welterweight title fight against Mikaela Mayer at Madison Square Garden on September 27, 2024. On her way to defend her fight right at the hotel entrance in New York City, Ryan was hit by a can of red paint  that stained her outfit and left her visibly shaken.
