Ways Women Boxers Are Discovering How
to Promote Themselves

(APR 29) It took a long time for
women’s boxing to finally gain the respect it so richly
deserved. It was accepted by the British Boxing Board of Control
in just 1998, and had Olympic status bestowed upon it in 2012,
just in time for the likes of Katie Taylor to shine.
However, because women’s boxing for the main part has always
operated as an amateur sport, it has taken women fighters a
little longer to find their way in the pro game.

finals of the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships were in the
official schedule on the ninth day of the competition in Kielce,
Poland. The Indian girls exceeded all of the previous
expectations in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and

(APRIL 10) In a second female bout scheduled at the Copper Box
Arena in London, Savannah Marshall, 159¼, won by a third round KO
over Maria Lindberg, 154¾ in a scheduled 10 round bout. The two were
fighting for the WBO Middleweight title. Marshall's original
opponent tested positive for Covid, so Lindberg took the fight with
