McCarter Stops Tenge in Eighth Round! September 30, 2012

 (SEPT 30) Tonight (time zone in South Africa) in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa, Layla McCarter, 148.3,  stopped Noni Tenge, 148.2,  in the eighth round by TKO, and won the vacant WBA junior middleweight world title.  At the scales: Mccarter, 148.3, Tenge, 148.2.  The fight was televised on SABC TV.

Boxing Action in Austria September 24, 2012

(SEPT 24) Last night at the Pro-Gym Sportcenter, in Vienna, Austria, super flyweight Eva Voraberger, 115, 22 years old, of Graz, Austria, won by a second round TKO [59 seconds] over Aniko Levai, 113¾, of Hungary. The bout was scheduled for six rounds.  Voraberger improved her record to 13-2-0 (7KO), and her opponent is now 1-1-0 (0KO).

(SEPT 22) Last night at the Chumash Casino, in California, in a four-rounder, in a crowd pleasing fight Maria Suarez and Abigail Castaneda left it all in the ring as both were trying to stay undefeated.  Folks you do not need to invent stories in boxing, because as they say with the ole' cliche  "truth is stranger than fiction."  This is the first bit of news that I believe WBAN has never reported.  This week a boxer (we believe to be Yahaira Hernandez according to our sources) had her hair cut to make weight!  We do not know if this was a spoof on YouTube, but if not this is one of the craziest weigh-in tactics we have seen in a long time.
