(SEPT 14) Tonight  at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on the undercard of the Mrdjenovich/Hernandez undercard Brandy Badry of Edmonton will be looking to move her professional record to an even 2-2 when she squares off against Jaime Ward, of Vancouver, BC, who is making her pro debut. The fight is scheduled for four rounds in the Lightweight division. Both of these ladies have fought each other in the amateurs before. I had the opportunity to speak to Badry as she was in the final preparations for her fight. According to Badry she doesn’t see this fight lasting the scheduled four rounds.

Rick McLean: What are one or two of the most important things that you have learned from your previous fights thus far?

Brandy Badry: To be prepared and train hard and the fight is easy also to learn from every fight then apply the lessons to the next one, steady progression.

RM: How was training camp for this fight against Ward?

BB: It was great I had my amateur coach Rick Jamerson back on board full time who has known me the longest seen me grow and is able to bring the very best out in me. The best hard sparring with a 5 time world champion. Consistent training and motivated with complete dedication and commitment I am very focus for this fight. Also, amazing commitment from my strength and conditioning coach who is always pushing me to be my best and who's been with me for 7 years.

RM: What do you know about Ward?

BB: I have met Jaime coming up in the amateurs she's from British Columbia and I fought her twice and beat her twice so there's nothing I don't know about Jaime Ward.

RM: Do you feel pressure fighting in front of your fans or do you feel that the pressure will be on Ward?

BB: All the pressure is on her it's her first pro fight and she's fighting in front of my crowd and she is gonna get hit harder then she's ever been hit in her life because there is no way anybody she has fought in amateur hits harder then I do.

RM: How do you see this fight going?

BB: Kinda like a lumber jack cutting down a tree CHOP...... CHOP.......CHOP ..... Timmmmmmber!

RM: What are your short term plans for the rest of 2012 moving into 2013?

BB: To stay active as I have been as of late and to get more fights. Also to have great training camps, stay healthy and gain some sponsorship partners to help with my professional career so I can continue to do what I love, boxing.
