(SEPT 10) On Saturday September
8, 2012 in front of a capacity crowd at The Hershey Centre in
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, United Boxing Promotions held
“Full Throttle”. The opening match on the card saw the much
anticipated pro debut of the four time Canadian National amateur
champion Jacqueline Park of Burlington, Ontario, who took on the
undefeated Amanda “Lion Heart” Beaudin of Hamilton.
The two were
fighting at 109 pounds. The fight was awkward right from the
start as Beaudin tried to press the action but Park would back
up and counter punch. There was also a lot of clinches in the
fight by both fighters as well. Park was able to land her right
hand over the top a lot on Beaudin.
Beaudin was unable to cut
off the ring or trap the elusive Park who used the entire ring
to her advantage. Neither fighter was ever in trouble throughout
the contest. In the end Park was just able to outbox Beaudin to
win a four round unanimous decision. The judge’s scores were
40-36 x 2 and 39-37. With the win Park moves to 1-0 and Beaudin
drops to 1-1, 1KO.
