WBF Release: Anne Sophie De Costa
Wins Vacant title
October 21, 2012 |
(OCT 21) Anne Sophie Da Costa of France won the vacant World
Boxing Federation Women’s World Strawweight title on Saturday night
(October 20), when she defeated Thailand’s former World Champion
Teeraporn Pannimit at the Salle Schmitt in Sedan, Ardennes, France.
Rather disappointingly Pannimit failed to make weight and therefore
couldn't win title, and the visitor did appear much bigger than Da
Costa. Early on it looked like she might be able to use that
advantage to overpower her opponent, but after the first three
rounds Da Costa managed to use good movement and footwork to avoid
the pressure and score with quick combinations. ..Full

(OCT 17) Hi this is your friend Esmeralda “Joya”
Moreno, current and proudly WBC light flyweight champion of the
world. On many occasions I have been asked why I box.
I guess people still find it hard to believe that a woman can be in
boxing, they still have the idea that “women belong in the kitchen”,
fortunately that has changed a lot, yet there are still people who
think that boxing is a sport exclusive for only men.
