(JAN 25)  The Global Boxing Cup is rescheduled by the AIBA Board of Directors' decision to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Russia will host the competition with a finals in Moscow.  ‘We are following the pandemic situation carefully and are in contact with doctors. Although we have cautious optimism about the situation in general, I totally agree with the Board of Directors to reschedule the Global Boxing Cup tournament to 2022..Full Story

(JAN 21) When the boxers of the USA Boxing Olympic Qualification Team arrived in Colorado Springs, Colo. this week they walked into a new training facility with just over six months left until the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and even less time to their qualification tournaments.

AIBA extended agreement with ITA for 2021

(JAN 11) AIBA President Mr. Umar Kremlev signed an agreement with International Testing Agency (ITA), represented by Director General Benjamin Cohen, extending the collaboration between AIBA and ITA for 2021.  ‘AIBA is fully committed to clean sports. In boxing, we continue to fight doping at all levels to make sure our sport is completely doping-free. (JAN 4) On Saturday night at the American Airlines Center, in Dallas, Texas, USA, there were nine fights featured on the Golden Boy Promotions Card.  In the only female bout scheduled on this card featured Franchon Crews-Dezurn vs. Ashleigh Curry.  At the weigh-in prior to this fight taking place, Curry came in heavy over the contract weight.  Franchon weighed in at 171¼, and Curry came in at 176¼.
