(JAN 4) On Saturday night at the American Airlines Center, in Dallas, Texas, USA, there were nine fights featured on the Golden Boy Promotions Card.  In the only female bout scheduled on this card featured Franchon Crews-Dezurn vs. Ashleigh Curry.  At the weigh-in prior to this fight taking place, Curry came in heavy over the contract weight.  Franchon weighed in at 171¼, and Curry came in at 176¼.

The weight apparently made no difference as Franchon won the eight round bout by a unanimous decision  with the final scoring of 80-72 on all scorecards.  Franchon moved her record to 7-1-0 (2KO), and Curry slipped to 8-14-4 (1KO).

In the main event of the evening in a scheduled 12 round Interim WBC World title bout,  lightweight Ryan Garcia, 135, remained undefeated when he KO'd Luke Campbell, 135, in the seventh round.  In this non-stop action packed bout, Garcia went down in the second round by the Southpaw Campbell throwing a left, landing Garcia on the canvass for the first time as a pro, and it apparently woke Garcia up by the surprise knockdown and immediately took command throughout most of the bout when he KO'd Campbell in the seventh round, where when Campbell went down to the canvass he failed to get back up from a kneeling position.  The very young Garcia, at just 22 years old, improved his boxing record to 21-0-0 (18KO), and 33-year old Campbell, fell to 20-4-0 (16KO).

Other bouts on the card:

Roger Gutierrez, 129½, won by a 12-round unanimous decision over Rene Alvarado,  129¼.   Alvarado was knocked down twice in the in the third round by Gutierrez, and once in the 12th round which gave Gutierrez the edge in winning this bout.  Final Judges scores were 112-113 on all score cards. Gutierrez became the new WBA Super Featherweight title holder.

Light flyweight Felix Alvarado, 107¼, won by a tenth round TKO in a 12-rounder for the IBF Light Flyweight world title over DeeJay Kriel, 107¼.  Alvarado was just too strong for Kriel, whereas Kriel went down in rounds two and four.

Middleweights, Raul Curiel, 153¼, won by a second round TKO over Ramses Agaton, in a scheduled eight round bout.  In this action-packed bout,  Curiel was the aggressor from the first round and on.  Curiel had told reporters before the fight that regardless of the Pandemic he trained regardless and it showed this night in his fight with Agaton.

Super welterweights, Alex Rincon, 155¼, won by a six-round unanimous decision over Sergio Lucio Gonzalez, 155¾.  Final judges scores were 60-54.

Lightweight Sean Garcia, 134¼, won by a four-round majority decision over Rene Marquez, 134¼.  Final judges scores 38-38, 39-37 and 39-37.

Bantamweight Asa Stevens, 118½, pro debut, won by a four-round unanimous decision over Francisco Bonilla, 118.  Final judges scores were 39-37.

In a cruiserweight bout, Tristan Kalkreuth, 194¼, TKO'd Jorge Armando Martinez, 198¼, in the first round,  in a four-round bout.
