29) Last night at the New Mexico Highlands University, in Las
Vegas, New Mexico, Holly Holm, 145, defeated Terri Blair,
143.5, in a rematch. Holm won by a
10-round unanimous decision for the WIBA welterweight title.
On the undercard of
the Holm-Blair mainliner, Nohime Dennisson, 128½. in Las
Vegas, New Mexico, won her pro debut by a four-round majority
decision, over Amanda Crespin, 126½, who was also making her
pro debut.

"Lessons From the Cage" gives me the chills. I have been thinking
the very same way for the last two years. Promotion of the sport of
women boxing is the key factor in insuring the surviving of the
sport. Now, let's take it a little bit further than that. Promoters
and their promotions are the only ones that can insured the
resuscitation and the healing of the injured sport of women boxing.

featherweight Amanda Serrano in a couple of her recent bouts.
Serrano thus far, early in her career is taking this sport by

(AUG 25) On Saturday night in Osaka, Japan,
Strawweight Etsuko Tada, 103¾, of Japan, won a 10-round
unanimous decision over Yani Kokietgym, 103, of Thailand.
Tada successfully defended her WBA Strawweight title--but not
without controversy. WBAN was told that the victory was a
controversial win, and that Kokietgym was very effectively
aggressive during the fight. Final judges scores: 93-97,
94-96,and 94-96. All judges were Koreans. The Tada-Kokiegym
bout was televised.

to view the film documentary, 'After the Last Round' this week. The
film features in part of the segments throughout the film, female
boxer and multi-world champion Kelsey Jeffries. Jeffries is a
veteran in the sport with over 50 professional fights. She is also,
the only female boxer in the sport who has been picked two years in
a row as WBAN's "Fighter of the Year" [2003, 2004].
