(APR 28) BSU (Boxing Sport Union) in Wuppertal held it's 4th International Women's Boxing Tournament on April 25th and 26th. Approximately 85 boxers took part in the tournament, which is considered the biggest Women's Boxing Event in Germany, only matched with the German Championships as far as number of competitors is concerned.  Full Story

(APR 27) On Sunday night Esther Phiri, from Zambia, won a fourth round TKO against an "unknown" boxer Ratree Kreakae, (not listed on Boxrec or WBAN), in a supposed "title" bout, no less. The fight took place at the Hood Restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya.  Full Story

(APR 22) This week WBAN was contacted by Nicole Woods, of Georgia, USA, in regards to a fight offer she received in Germany for May 30, 2009. Woods shared some "Behind the Scenes" to negotiating a potential fight out of the United States. Pucek-Nunez to fight at the Emerald Queen

(APR 22) On June 20, 2009, at the Emerald Queen Casino, in Tacoma, Washington, there will be a women's bout on the card. Sarah Pucek will be fighting Merced Nunez. Taylor Wins Gold - Ahmet Comert Cup

(APR 20)  Katie Taylor and Carl Frampton both claimed gold medals at the men's and women's Ahmet Comert Cup in Istanbul, Turkey yesterday.  But Ireland's Olympic hero Paddy Barnes was withdrawn from his 48Kg final after picking up a viral infection.  Taylor also picked up the best female boxer of the tournament award and the best overall male and female boxer of the tournament award.  Full Story

Ireland: Preliminary Results

(APR 13) The 2009 National Boy & Girl 1, 2 and 3 Championships got underway at the National Stadium this afternoon with 21 preliminary round bouts decided at the home of Irish boxing. Over 300 young boxers have entered this years tournament.  The Championships run from Monday April 13th to Saturday April 18th inclusive. Boxing will resume tomorrow morning at 10am.  Full Story
