(APR 22) On June 20, 2009, at the
Emerald Queen Casino, in Tacoma, Washington, there will be a women's
bout on the card. Sarah Pucek will be fighting Merced Nunez.
Both Pucek and Nunez are coming off tough fights with both declared
draws. Nunez fought back-to-back draws with Elizabeth Moreno with
the last fight January 17 at the Silver Reef Casino. Pucek had a
draw with Tammie Johnson.
Pucek has never gone 6 rounds and has only 4 fights under her belt
however did see action in 15 amateurs fights. Nunez had only two
amateurs and should be the favorite, however the real winner in the
fight will be the local boxing fans and women’s boxing because it
will be a solid contest. These are the type of fights that get
people interested and excited women’s boxing and boxing in general.
