(APR 27) On Sunday night Esther Phiri,
from Zambia, won a fourth round TKO against an "unknown" boxer
Ratree Kreakae, (not listed on Boxrec or WBAN), in a supposed
"title" bout, no less. The fight took place at the Hood Restaurant
in Nairobi, Kenya.
In the Lusaka Times online news, they reported that Phiri was
fighting for a WIBA title. But, WBAN received notice from the WIBA,
Ryan Wissow, who told us that he had NOTHING to do with this match.
Wissow even went so far to post his comments on the Lusaka Times
website where the story is posted.
He stated the following in those comments: "WIBA DID NOT SANCTION
THIS FIGHT. I refuse to work with promoter Kaleb Cuya because he is
a piece of s..., using the WIBA’s name to promote this event, when
the WIBA is in no way involved with these fight, and not paying the
WIBA and other sanction bodies’ fees. I told Caleb before the fight
to lose my number, I want nothing to do with him or his shows. I am
the president of the WIBA and I approve this message. RYAN WISSOW"
On Lusaka Times, they described the fight as the following: "Esther
was far superior throughout the fight against the little known
Thailand boxer who hardly threw an effective punch against the
celebrated Zambian female boxer."
Just "one" little question to anyone concerned..Why in the world was
this even advertised or called a World title bout in the first
place?
WBAN invites the promoter, the boxer, the boxer's team,
to furnish us with Ratree Kreakae's boxing record. At this
time, she will go down as a 0-1-0 boxer otherwise. Or if
the above mentioned
would like to respond to the supplied information that this report
has included about the fight not being sanctioned by the WIBA.
We would like to see photos of the fight, and/or video of the fight.
