Tsunami Tenkai Wins by a Second Round TKO over Carleans Rivas

(NOV 30)  Last night at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo Japan, Tsunami Tenkai, of Japan won by a second round TKO over Carleans Rivas, from the Philippines in a scheduled ten round bout.  The two were fighting for the vacant WBO Light Flyweight Asia-Pacific title. Uncasville, CT, On Saturday night (Nov. 25) Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented another rendition of the "Slugfest at The Sun" series at the Mohegan Sun arena in Uncasville, CT.  In a female six-rounder between Kali Reis and Tiffany Woodard brought the house down. Reis, who had a huge following in attendance, started fast, throwing bombs with both hands landing flush on the chin of Woodard who showed an incredibly strong chin as well as a huge heart as she tried to fend off the assault of Reis. (NOV 26)  Sunday witnessed ten thrilling finals of the 2017 Women’s Youth World Championships in the north-east India city of Guwahati, at which Russia, Kazakhstan, USA and South Korea topped the podium along with the hosts India whose boxers dominated the lighter weight categories. A total of 160 boxers from 31 countries began the week-long tournament, which also made available four quota places for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.  Full Story

(NOV 20) International Boxing Association (AIBA) and Mr Ching-Kuo Wu announced today that they have amicably agreed to resolve the management issues within AIBA and to withdraw and terminate all related pending procedures before civil courts and AIBA Disciplinary Commission.Both parties agreed that at this stage there is no indication of any unethical behaviour by either party.  Full Story

(NOV 19) After a year of key tournaments around the world, nearly 200 top Women’s Youth boxers arrive in India this week for the start of the 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Championships in Guwahati. The season began in January with the Nation Women’s Cup in Serbia, followed by the prestigious Golden Girl championship in Sweden in February. (NOV 11)  New Zealand Heavyweight (NZPBA Version) Champion Alrie Melesiea, defended her title against Sarah Long at ABA Stadium in Auckland.   Alrie Meleisea (3-0-0) is ranked 6th in the WBA, UBF Asia Pacific champion, New Zealand champion and has peaked at 4th on boxrec back in April this year. (NOV 9)  This last Saturday at the GasMart Stadium, in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, there were two female bouts on the card. In one bout, Jr. Flyweight Sandra Robles, now 19-2-0, (9KO), from Tijuana,  won a six-round unanimous decision over Linda Contreras of Mexico City, Mexico.  She is now 1-2-0 (1KO).  Full Story
