Cool Story of the Week: Oscar De La Hoya to Host 5th Annual After-School Program Giveaway at Garden Grove Boxing
Source: PR
November 7, 2017

(NOV 7)  Olympic Gold medalist and 10-time boxing world champion Oscar De La Hoya will host his fifth annual after school program equipment giveaway in which he will present new-state-of-the-art boxing equipment valued at thousands of dollars to the youth of Garden Grove Boxing. De La Hoya will be on-hand to present the equipment to dozens of youth that train at the gym, while also encouraging them to continue in their training and to lead positive lives. Interviews with Oscar De La Hoya will be available immediately following the presentation.

On Friday, November 10th,  De La Hoya will be joined by dozens of youth from Garden Grove Boxing For Equipment Presentation.

For the last 5 years, the Oscar De La Hoya Foundation has worked with corporate donors to fund the purchase and delivery of new boxing equipment to gyms throughout Southern California for numerous after school programs to help guide young people toward leading positive lives.

This year the Foundation, with the support of its long-time corporate partner California Municipal Finance Authority and Everlast, is donating equipment to 5 gyms in Southern California that serve youth in economically disadvantaged communities. Recipients of the Foundation's boxing equipment donations this year include Garden Grove Boxing in Garden Grove, Eddie Heredia Boxing Club in Los Angeles, Westside Boxing Club in Los Angeles, Azteca Boxing Club in Bell, and Duarte Boxing Club in Duarte.
