(DEC 26) On Friday night (Dec. 28) at the Club Once Rayos, Merlo, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Gabriela "La Chucky" Alaniz, 2-0-0 (0KO), of Buenos Aires, will be fighting Daniela (Dany) Molina, 1-1-1, also from Buenos Aires, will be fighting a four-round bout on the undercard in the light flyweight division.   No information in regards to this card.

Two Female Bouts in Argentina

 (DEC 22) Last night at the  Estadio Aldo Cantoni, in San Juan, Argentina, Leonela Yudica, 111, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Yairineth Altuve, 111.  The two were fighting for the IBF Flyweight world title. Yudica went down in the third round. In a second female bout super bantamweight Maria Roman, 118¾, had a no contest with Vanesa Toborda, 119.  The two had a clash of the heads and caused a deep gash on Roman's head.

(DEC 20) Having solidified herself as a legitimate women’s star in her own right with her gallant performance against Claressa Shields last June, world champion Hanna Gabriels (18-2-1, 11 KOs) will return to her homeland to face Australia’s Sarah Dwyer on Saturday, January 26, at the Avenida Escazu in San Jose, Costa Rica.  The 10-round battle will be in defense of Gabriels’ WBA Super Welterweight Championship. (DEC 19)  With a very heavy heart for a top female boxer, Maria Jesus Rosa, of Madrid, Spain, 44 years old, passed away yesterday after a short bout of Cancer.  According to news sources, she was just diagnosed with Cancer two months ago, and the disease unfortunately was very swift with Rosa.  Full Story

(DEC 19)  In a pivotal year for women’s boxing that saw the sport reach more people than ever before, two-time United States Olympic gold medal winner Claressa Shields continued to soar, as she successfully defended her two world middleweight titles, then added three super middleweight belts before the end of a campaign that earned her the 2018 Christy Martin Award, which is given to the Boxing Writers Association of America’s Female Fighter of the Year.  Full Story

Katie Taylor Wins by a Decision over Ewa Wahlstrom

(DEC 16) Last night at the Madison Square Garden, in New York, NY, USA, in a female bout scheduled on the card, Katie Taylor, 134¼,  of Bray, Ireland, now 12-0-0 (5 KO), won by a shut-out decision over Ewa Wahlstrom, 133.5, of Helsinki, Finland.  Wahlstrom suffered a heavy cut to her forehead in the eighth round.  Full Story

(DEC 15)  The epic rematch between Geovana Peres and Lani Daniels is on, but this time something more is at stake. It was confirmed on Boxrec yesterday that the two women boxers will face off for the vacant WBO World Light Heavyweight title in Auckland, New Zealand on 30th of March 2019. The event is promoted by Bruce Glozier of Glozier boxing. This is the same World title Joseph Parker won in December 2016. This is the first women's World title bout in the Light Heavyweight division for the WBO. The last female to hold a World title from New Zealand was Daniella Smith, as she won the first every IBF World Welterweight title in 2010.  Full Story

(DEC 3) On Saturday night at the Estadio Municipal, Perez, Santa Fe, Argentina,  super lightweight Victoria Bustos, 138, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Enis Pacheco, 139. The two were fighting for the vacant IBF Super Lightweight title. In a second female bout, super flyweight Roxana Bermudez, 112, had a four-round draw with Aixa Adema, 113. Final judges scores were 39-39 on all cards.

 (DEC 3) On Saturday night at the Entertainment and Sports Arena, Washington, District of Columbia, middleweight Tori Nelson, 155¾, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Sanna Turunen, 158¼. Tori Nelson was defending her UBF Middleweight world title.  The bout was featured as the Co-main event.

(DEC 1) Amateur boxer Mary Kom of India made history recently when she became the first woman boxer to win six gold medals at the World Championships. India’s legendary boxer Mary Kom clinched a record sixth Gold in the Women’s World Boxing Championship, which was held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. She made this history by winning in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2018.
