Katie Taylor Wins by a Decision over Ewa Wahlstrom
December 16, 2018

(DEC 16) Last night at the Madison Square Garden, in New York, NY, USA, in a female bout scheduled on the card, Katie Taylor, 134¼,  of Bray, Ireland, now 12-0-0 (5 KO), won by a shut-out decision over Ewa Wahlstrom, 133.5, of Helsinki, Finland.  Wahlstrom suffered a heavy cut to her forehead in the eighth round.

Taylor was defending her IBF and WBA Lightweight world titles for the third time, winning all rounds with a 100-90 on all judges cards.

According to media sources, Taylor easily defeated Wahlstrom, and saying that Taylor was the "Complete Package".  Taylor dominated the fight for the ten rounds, and that in the last round Taylor threw a whopping 19 punches in just 3.5 seconds.

Another news report said, "The 32-year-old [Taylor] walked to the ring to the tune of Fairytale of New York, but it was anything but a fairytale for her opponent."
