night at the Odense Idraetshal,
in Odense, Denmark,
Vinni Skovgaard
(5-0-0) won the vacant WBC International Junior Welterweight title
by defeating Belgian Zelda Tekin (4-1-0) by TKO (0:40 seconds) in
the tenth round by TKO.
According to
newspaper reports, Tekin caused Skovgaard some problems with her
very aggressive style in the early rounds. After Skovgaard found her
range and got her jab working, she was in full control for the last
6-7 rounds. Tekin went down after a combo in the 10th round, and was
stopped by the referee. The card was promoted by Bettina Palle.
