(MAR 14) On Friday, April 18, 2008, at
York Hall, Laura Saperstein of the UK, will take to the ring again,
against a "to be announced" opponent.
After the April 18th bout, Saperstein plans to tackle a bigger fight
outside the ring. The 36 year old from Tottenham, North London,
originally hails from Australia and intends returning to her home
state of New South Wales to challenge a law forbidding women boxing.
Saperstein said, "I can’t believe that
it’s actually a criminal offense for a woman to enter the ring,
especially in a progressive country like Australia. To me it defies
believe that I could legally go back to Sydney to make a living as a
